  2. Q:Does the engine start?
  3. YQ:Does the engine stall?
  4.  YQ:Any air leaks in or around the intake manifold?
  5.   YC:Check the manifold
  6.   NQ:Are the valves set too tight?
  7.    YC:Check the valves
  8.    NQ:Are the ignition points burned, pitted, or gapped incorrectly?
  9.     YC:Check the points
  10.     NQ:Is the idle speed set too slow?
  11.      YC:Adjust the idle speed
  12.      NC:Check the carb mixture
  13.  NQ:Does the engine misfire?
  14.   YQ:Are the spark plugs fouled, damaged, too hot, too cold, or gapped wrong?
  15.    YC:Check the plugs
  16.    NQ:Is the head gasket blown?
  17.     YC:Change the head gasket
  18.     NQ:Are the points burned, pitted, or incorrectly gapped?
  19.      YC:Check the points
  20.      NQ:Are the valves worn, sticking, or valve springs broken or weak?
  21.       YC:Check the valves
  22.       NQ:Is carburation poor due to clogged or loose jets, air leaks, or bad mixture?
  23.        YC:Check the carburator
  24.        NQ:Are there any signs of free gas around the carburator?
  25.         YC:The float may be sticking
  26.         NC:Check the ignition timing
  27.   NQ:Does the engine lack power or performance?
  28.    YQ:Is the ignition timing off?
  29.     YC:Adjust the timing
  30.     NQ:Has vacuum advance failed?
  31.      YC:Fix the vacuum advance
  32.      NQ:Are the points burned, pitted, sticking or bouncing?
  33.       YC:Change the points
  34.       NC:It could be the piston rings
  35.    NQ:Does the engine idle roughly?
  36.     YC:Check the fuel volatility
  37.     NC:Check the cylinder head
  38. NQ:Does the starter crank the engine?
  39.  YQ:Are the points burned, pitted, dirty or fail to function?
  40.   YC:Fix the points
  41.   NQ:Is the coil output weak, nonexistent?
  42.    YC:Change the coil
  43.    NQ:Is the coil resistor burned out or open?
  44.     YC:Change the coil
  45.     NQ:Are the spark plugs damaged, dirty, wet, or gapped incorrectly?
  46.      YC:Change the spark plugs
  47.      NQ:Is the fuel pump worn, leaking, clogged or inoperative?
  48.       YC:Change the fuel pump
  49.       NQ:Is the choke incorrectly set or inoperative?
  50.        YC:Fix the choke
  51.        NQ:Is it the carb float, jets or needle valve
  52.         YC:Fix the carburator
  53.         NQ:Is the distributor cap, rotor, insulator damaged or wet?
  54.          YC:Fix the distributor
  55.          NQ:Are the ignition cables cracked, wet, corroded?
  56.           YC:Fix the ignition cables
  57.           NQ:Does ignition switch remain open when key is turned?
  58.            YC:Replace the ignition switch or battery
  59.            NC:The problem could be in the fuel
  60.  NQ:Are the battery terminals loose or corroded?
  61.   YC:Fix the terminals
  62.   NQ:Does the starter motor fail to operate when power is applied directly?
  63.    YC:Replace the starter
  64.    NQ:Does starter drive gear fail to engage flywheel?
  65.     YC:Replace the solenoid
